Continuum HistoricalBalances Overview :

This is the Advanced Historical Balances screen in Continuum.

This is the preferred method for 'reconciling' fund values over time.  On this screen you can enter new historical balances which will affect the actors who pass over them. 

It is recommended to keep historical balances on days where (for that fund) there is no actor activity.   Historical Balances which occur on the same day as an actor posting, will overwrite the actor with that historical balance (even if that is not what you intended).   So if you reconcile today and enter a Guided transaction for today as well, your transaction will not count for future projections.  If you do not mind this Historical Balance prioritization, you are free to reconcile on the same day.
